| Thousands of Hong Kong youngsters cost supermarkets tens of thousands ^ dollars a year by shoplifting. New figures show that almost half of those were arrested for shoplifting last year were age between seven and twenty. Police fear the total number of young criminals could be high, as a lot of many those caught by shopkeepers are simply thrown out of shops or turned over to parents because they are ^ young to be prosecuted. Some youngsters wear in their school uniforms in supermarkets and stuff stolen good into schoolbags. Psychologist Ng Kee-on said most of ^ shoplifters stole because they were greedy.
